This research is under guidance of Mohamad Muklis, M.Hum as advisor I and Rostanti Toba, M.Pd as advisor II. Reading is the path to succes in school life. One who is not able to read will not able to succed. Those who are good readers are able to expand their views, experiences and thoughts. Living in a largely literate society, we are surrounded by written materials covering almost all aspects of our lives. Examples of written materials are newspapers, books, journals, magazines and other electronic sources which are written in english is guide us to know more about what happen in another country since English is an international language. It is easy for us to understand to read those written materials if we have a good mastery in vocabulary. This research was purposed to know about reading interest for English reading materials in teenagers in Loa Janan especially in Jl. Barito rt. 29. The method used in this research is a qualitative research. The population of this study was 32 teenagers from 76 of total population. The data of the teenagers are collected through simple random sampling technique. The reseacher use one kind of instrument that is questionnaire. Questionnaire used as the instruments of this research. First of all, the researcher offers the questionnaire to the respondents. The aim of this questionnaire is to know the teenagers‟ reading interest in English reading materials. Then, the researcher describe the results to the table. The result of this research showed that the most teenagers in Loa Janan are interested in English reading materials. It can be concluded that there are some teenagers showed a high reading interest for fictional books or reading materials in English-language because they like that genre. They also show their willness to read fiction books or reading materials in smartphone or computer because they think it will make easier for them. | en_US |
