dc.description.abstractABSTRACT Nindi Ayu Eka Puspa Sari, 2019. The Correlation Between Students’ Vocabulary Mastery and Writing Achievement on Fourth Semester of English Education Department. Under Graduated Degree Thesis, English Education Department, Teacher Training and Tarbiyah Faculty, State Islamic Institute of Samarinda. This research is under guidanced of Bahrani, M.Pd as Advisor I and Widya Noviana Noor, M.Pd as Advisor II. The research background of this research is students' vocabulary mastery and writing achievement. But,when the reresearcher observed some of the thirth semester students, they still have some matter problems in writing. So some of them do not able to make good paragraph because they feel less on vocabulary and grammar. Indeed in the writing activity, not only need grammar but also vocabulary. So if the students have many vocabularies, they will learn and practice English writing well, and if they vocabulary is limit, they cannot transmit their ideas to communicate to the others. The aims of this research to find out the correlation of the variable. The design of research is quantitative research. The objectives of this research is to find out the correlation between students‟ vocabulary mastery and writing achievement on fourth semester of English education department. In this research, the researcher takes all the students on fourth semester of English education department in IAIN Samarinda as the population in collecting the data. The researcher collected the data by using test. After the test has been done, the researcher used analysis the data by pearson product moment and t-test. Based on the analysis, the calculation of the value of t-test was found, that it is 4,368 and t-table product moment is 1.645 with the level of significance of 5% and df 55. It means that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. It can be concluded that, there is significantly correlation between students‟ vocabulary mastery and writing achievement on fourth semester of English education department.en_US
