Abstract
ABSTRACT Didi Admanur. 2019. The Influence of Tidungnese Accent to English Pronounciation of Second Grade Students of SMAN 1 Sembakung North Kalimantan Academic Year 2018/2019. This research is supervised by Mr. Dr. Umar Fauzan, M.Pd. and Mrs. Rostanti Toba, M.Pd. The background of this research is the influence of Tidungnese Accent to English pronunciation of Second Grade Students of SMAN 1 Sembakung North Kalimantan. As we know in Indonesia English has been though from elementary school to university level. It has four skill should be mastered by students, those are reading, writing, speaking, and listening. In this research the researcher wanted to know the influence of Tidungnese Accent to English pronunciation of Second Grade Students of SMAN 1 Sembakung North Kalimantan. The Purpose of this research is to know the Influence of Tidungnese accent to English pronunciation. This research is the qualitative research to determine the Influence of Tidungnese Accent to English pronunciation of Second Grade Students of SMAN 1 Sembakung North Kalimantan. This research is used one variable, All the population in this research was 9 students. The researcher uses all the population to get the data, then the population in this research was 9 the students in the Second Grade Students of SMAN 1 Sembakung North Kalimantan who speak Tidungnese with numbered 9 students. Pronunciation test is used to get the data. The student have to pronounce sixty vocabularies consisting of 10 nouns, 10 verbs,10 adjectives, 10 adverbs, 10 prepositions, and 10 conjunctions. Then the data is analyzed by using a percentage formula. Result of the test above shows the influence of Tidungnese Accent to English Pronunciation of Second Grade Students of SMAN 1 Sembakung North Kalimantan was still in the low category because it is on the interval (21% - 40%). Based on test results above can be concluded that the Influence of Tidungnese Accent to English pronunciation of Second Grade Students of SMAN 1 Sembakung North Kalimantan was still low. This means that the effect exists but it is not significant it is proved from the results of the research.
