This research is under guidance of Mohamad Muklis, M.Hum as advisor I and Widya Noviana Noor, M.Pd as advisor II.
English is important especially in education. To learn and master English there are four skills namely reading, listening to speak and write. Of all speaking skills have an important role in mastering English. Speaking skills at SMP Islam Bunga Bangsa Samarinda is one of the English skills that students must master. Because the target in this school is students can more actively speak English. And what is the teaching process of the teacher to improve speaking English in the students. In this study, the researcher describe teaching speaking at SMP Islam Bunga Bangsa Samarinda with the following research objectives: to find out how the teacher prepares Plans, Learning (RPP), to find out how to implement the teaching of speaking teachers, to find out how the teacher selecting teaching materials, to find out the evaluation process in speaking.
The method used in this research is qualitative. Data collection techniques using observations made by the researcher to observe objects, interviews aimed at English teacher and documentation as a tool used by the researcher to collect data in research. Data analysis techniques used data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusions / verification. This type of research is a descriptive qualitative study because researchers describe the teaching of speaking at SMP Islam Bunga Bangsa Samarinda.
The results in this study were that the teacher at SMP Islam Bunga Bangsa Samarinda prepared lesson plans (RPP) in teaching speaking based on competency standards and basic competencies in the syllabus and curriculum. In selecting teaching materials for learning to speak this school used the student book from the Cambridge curriculum, the book 'English in Mind' as a student book. Implementation in teaching of speaking the teacher used role play, discussion and questions answer as learning strategy and the teacher used LCD and audio CD media as learning media. And In evaluation the teacher used formative values. The teacher has a particular note in evaluate speaking material.
