Based on the research was conducted by researcher to the subject, the researcher found outs that the students have difficulties to understand the material, lack of vocabulary, lack of discipline and the teachers also find it difficult in teaching process, the ability of students are still lacking. That make the researcher want to identify about the problems occur because resources and teaching materials are difficult to understand or techniques and methods in learning English is never changes so that make students become bored. The objective of this research is to find out the teaching and learning English problems at the third grade of MTs. Al – Falah in academic year 2019/2020.
The method of this research was the descriptive qualitative method. Descriptive qualitative analysis was used to present the result of study in the form of descriptive explanation. The research was conducted at MTs. Al – Falah. In this research the subject of the study is the teacher of the third grade of MTs. Al – Falah in the academic year 2019/2020. The data were collected by three techniques: observation, interview, and documentation. To get the validity of the data, the researcher used data triangulation.
The result of this research showed that there are some problems faced by the teacher in teaching at the third grade of MTs. Al – Falah, such as: 1) Difficulty to make students interested and pleased with the lesson; 2) Make the students understand. While the problems faced by the students at the third grade of MTs. Al - Falah, such as: 1) Listening Skill; 2) Speaking Skill; 3) Reading Skill; 4) Writing Skill.
