dc.description.abstract | The background study was Islamic higher education in Indonesia in two decades faced stagnancy especially in developing of Islamic thought. In this era, Islamic higher education seemed the informal education institution or conventional institutions by memorizing method without deep understanding. By 1970, Harun Nasution implemented some modern Islamic education cultures. Islam which was studied by academically so as the Islamic higher education increased significant. Harun Nasution did the modernization or dynamics of Islamic thought in Islamic higher education. This study aimed to know Harun thought in modernization in Islamic higher education and its effect in developing of Islamic higher education now. This study was literature review or library research by using Harun Nasution’s books as a primary data included other books or media which related in this study such as magazine, newspaper, journal as secondary data. This study approach was history-philosophy-pedagogic approach. This study result was Harun Nasution thought still gave effect in IAIN then University at the time, moreover UIN Jakarta and PTKI in Indonesia generally. To implant the academic thought in students and academic people still started IAIN so as UIN level, it tried to change the curriculum of PTKI which normative before by using socio cultural, build the postgraduate program in IAIN Jakarta as a Islamic thought center and place of Islamic analyze academically. The steps were gave the philosophy object, kalam, and research methodology and other objects to the students in IAIN. His thought could be filled until now. The students could understand the Islamic and general knowledge. It could be proofed by the graduate who could compete appropriated their skill | en_US |
