This research was guided by Parno, SE. M.SI and Widya Noviana Noor M.Pd This research was motivated by the large number of poor people in the samarinda City which reached 39,250 people. In Islam, one way to reduce poverty is by giving zakat funds. In this modern zakat fund that is given is not only communal, but with zakat funds that are productive. This means that the funds provided can be used for long-term life. The purpose of this research is to find out whether there is an effect of the use of productive zakat that has been given to the economic empowerment of the people significantly. This type of research is field research. With quantitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques in this study using observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. This study uses census techniques in determining the sample, namely the technique used if the number of samples is less than 100, in this study 20 samples were used. For the process of data analysis using simple linear regression. The results obtained from this study using simple linear regression analysis are Y = -0.941 + 1,038 X. The utilization of productive zakat provided by the Samarinda Zakat House is very significant, seen from R square where 81.7% of economic empowerment is influenced by the use of productive zakat . This is evidenced also based on the calculation of t_count of 8.954 is greater than t_ (table) which is equal to 2.101 (8.954> 2.101) with a significance level of productive zakat utilization variable of 0.000, which means smaller than 0.05. So it can be concluded that the use of productive zakat is very influential on the economic empowerment of the people.
